All –
It’s hard to keep up with all the political goings on of the week in the Trump Era. The good news is that the public outcry and resistance is mounting, and it’s working.
More information about Trump’s corruption, and the ethics violations of those around him is being revealed every day e.g. infomercials
and Kremlin connections
Today is a celebration of love. Defending democracy and our progressive values is the most grand sweeping gesture of love we can give to our country this Valentines Day.
Sending everyone lots of love and good feels today. Remember love really does trump hate.
1. By Tomorrow:
Find your local paper whether it’s a physical publication or a web-based blog like Patch. Get familiar with the tone of its coverage, and find out who runs the publication. If you come across a biased article or misleading headline write a letter/email to the editor challenging the incorrect info (if you’d like help with this AWB would be happy to give you a hand!)

2. By Friday:

Ramp up the pressure on Rep. Jason Chaffetz. If your local rep is on the house oversight committee – here is the link to see if they are – call and encourage them to investigate President Trump. Explain that having an administration with a total disregard for conflict of interest laws damages democracy, and endangers the rights of all Americans.

If your local rep isn’t on the committee call Rep. Chaffetz himself . While you have his people on the phone, you can also set him straight about his town hall in Utah. He claims that all of the protestors were paid Democrats despite there being zero evidence of this. Don’t let “alternative facts” undermine these patriotic protestors.
3. By Sunday:
Take action against the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL). Find a rally near you, or donate to the water defenders legal fund:

Mixed Media:

1. Egregious anti-democracy action you probably haven’t heard about: Justice Department won’t pursue challenges to equal access bathroom rights.

2. Easy to forward clip to family and friends: Guiliani confirms the intent of Trump’s Muslim Ban is exactly as nefarious as it seems
3. Coward of the week: In a surprise twist, 84 Lumber becomes our first hero of the week to take a heel turn. Last week its owner revealed that she actually supports both President Trump and his wall, despite running a Super Bowl ad that heavily implied support for Mexican immigrants.
4. Hero(es) of the week: The 9th circuit. Congrats to this federal appeals panel of three judges who rejected President Trump’s attempt to reinstate his travel ban.
5. Here’s your pro-democracy, pro-America pump-up song of the week, Valentine’s Day Edition: Step out into the world and love someone.
